HJRS Journal Checker / Privacy policy

Privacy policy

Last updated 20 October 2026 (Pro plan added).

HJRS Journal Checker does not collect or sell personal data. The journal list is packed inside the extension, so every lookup happens in your own browser and nothing you search leaves your computer.

On Google Scholar it reads the journal names already shown on the results page to add the badges. When you press "Check the journal on this page", it reads that one page once to find an ISSN or journal title. Nothing is saved or sent anywhere.

It counts how many searches you make each day, in your browser's own storage, for the free plan limit.

If you buy Pro, payment is handled by Lemon Squeezy, who see your payment details and email under their own privacy policy. The extension sends only your license key to Lemon Squeezy's license server to check it is valid, once when you activate and again every few days. It stores the key and its status in your browser.

The extension has no analytics, no ads and does not sell or share data. This web page uses Google Analytics to count visits.
